This is the first, and least legally significant, criminal investigation being conducted against him. The first drops of a rainstorm, so to speak.
You might not get wet from the first drop, but if you play outside in a storm, you'll eventually get soaked. The man has lived his whole life in contempt of the law, and he's finally going to face some consequences for it.

LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN!

This is true. He won't do time for the Stormy stuff. And his supporters are dwindling. When he urged them to "fight back" a couple weeks ago, with his bulls**t pics of him getting busted, about 7 people showed up to protest against it in NYC in front of Trump Towers. Many more showed up for him getting caught with his pants down!

He's a national joke and embaressment for most.

The first case they brought in Manhattan is the weakest of the three pending criminal cases. Is it a misdemeanor campaign finance violation? Sure. A felony? That's a stretch, but it's possible the jury will buy it.

The problem is if he beats this one, which he has a pretty good chance to, it might weaken the rest of the cases in the public mind, bringing some non-MAGAs around to Lester's POV.

After a week like this, the biden administration really needed a huge distraction.

Alvin Bragg & Letitia James both pretty much ran their entire campaigns on saying they would "get Trump", while crime in New York has gotten worse.

And frankly, this aint the first time the left has cheered, "we got him this time!"
