May 8 is Coconut Cream Pie Day.



Perhaps the first truly great pie fight in cinema was in the 1927 Laurel and Hardy silent film "The Battle of the Century".  This is, quite possibly, the biggest pie fight ever staged in a motion picture.  It is reputed that 4,000 pies were used in the pie throwing scene.
