The German / South African co-production The Whispering Death aka Albino aka Night of Askari is the one that does it for me.

Filmed during the bush war in my birth country, the film features a police officer driven mad by his wife's murder, hunts down the albino killer, known as The Whispering Death.

I grew up during that war and my Dad served in the police so it is very uncomfortable for me to watch: the book is miles better and also has a sense of humor, unlike the movie which is a grueling exercise.

As the son of a disabled Vietnam vet, there's something about realistic war movies that just makes me uncomfortable.  So for the most part I try to avoid them.

I also really dislike torture porn movies.

Another thing that gets me is movies where one character is clearly a jerk, and not a comical one.  Something about a person just being realistically mean for no reason sets me off.

Streetwise (1984)

It is a documentary/Indie film about runaways, troubled teens and young adults living on the streets of downtown Seattle, Washington. It is kind of like a real life version of Angel (1984) but more depressing, sad and disturbing at times.
Is it October yet?
