What's the dumbest thing you've ever seen, heard or read?

Probably not the dumbest ever but pretty close.

At this other message board I post, there was a discussion about video rental stores back in the day. This one poster wrote that one time his father rented a movie he ended up not liking. When he returned the tape, he demanded his money back.

Entitled much?

A video store cannot be held responsible for the supposedly "bad" quality of a movie. Nobody was forcing him to rent the film. If he was so eager to complain, he should've contacted the director of the movie, or the studio, lol.
Is it October yet?

A client blamed me (and reported me to my mentor) for there not being any footage of the controversial Prime Monster Hendrik Verwoerd's 1966 assassination in Parliament 😳😳

The election of the most vile, immoral, and downright ignorant, man in America to run the most powerful country on the planet- Donald Trump.

I think the people who believe this was a smart move are complete, total, MORONS.

I had a friend who didn't like spicy food, so he couldn't understand that other people did. He believed Indian people didn't actually like their own food and were pretending to like it for some reason.

Basically his entire belief system was urban legends and nativist cope.

when I was a kid there was some graffiti on a wall in town that said "I'M THINK".

the general consensus was that whoever did it had meant to put "I'M THICK" (as in stupid) but couldn't even spell it right.

I mean, that does sound like quite a controversial role?

In high school this girl named Andrea told the teacher we couldn't have famines in America because we have grocery stores.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Indeed, Verwoerd was a monster. Someone tried to kill him in 1960 too 😳😳

hopefully I wasn't the only little kid in the world who, on observing my parents buying stuff, thought shopkeepers gave out 'change' randomly... like that was just something that happened whenever you bought things from a shop... you got given a bit of change. wonder how much chamge they'll decide to give this time?! :)

As a kid I thought I could experience the moment of falling asleep by staying awake with my eyes closed. Not only does it not make sense, but I also tried several times.

haha, yeah 'logic' at that age is a strange thing...

- Some random guy I got talking to once, told me the reason he was visiting the area was "to celebrate my dad's death".

he meant 'commemorate'... (and he said it twice as well)

A former lecturer told me to take my book as is and feed it into an AI program.

I can't say what I told him but it wasn't "thank you kindly" 😳😳
