Quote from: RCMerchant on Today at 08:37:10 AMI can't think of one Woody Allen movie I could sit through until the end.

I've seen a few, but not all. The ones that I enjoyed the most are

Husbands and Wives (1992)
Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993)
The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985)
Is it October yet?

Rev. Powell

BANANAS and SLEEPER are the ones I'd recommend to Woody haters. But I get it. Don't know how unpopular the opinion is, lots of people hate Woody (even before the scandals).
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I made it though Annie Hall and Manhattan, but was incredibly bored by them

agreed x 1000... and it does seem to be hailed as a classic by many (most?)

Quote from: RCMerchant on May 22, 2025, 06:55:01 AMThe problem I had with the whole SCREAM thing is by the time it came out, the slasher franchise mess was just about played out. The 'masked killer' thing was old hat. It just seemed like kicking a dead horse.

well I think that's an unpopular opinion...the slasher scene had actually been fairly dormant since the late 80s and SCREAM is generally credited with revitalising the genre?

never liked the SCREAM movies myself though.

in fact my next unpopular opinion can be...

Wes Craven is the most overrated horror director ever.

I've never really liked Will Ferrell...,
Some people have said he has good timing, But I've always found his characters to be stiff & one note...
