currently watching KNIGHT RIDER 2000, which is a 1991-made feature length TV movie of the KNIGHT RIDER tv series.

got me thinking about other TV shows which spun off into TV movie form... (I mean ones which starred some or all of the original cast members... not talking about decades later hollywood 'remake' type movies with big name actors-du-jour in them)

we have three THE BIONIC WOMAN / SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN movies (with really long titles I can't be bothered to type out), which were made in the 80s.

what others?

((- I know that often, pilot episodes of tv shows are feature length, so to clarify I'm not talking about pilot episodes -))

I heard there was supposed to be an online movie about Agents Of SHIELD that was supposed to tie in a bunch of changes between two seasons, but I could never find any info on it.....

Some episodes of Tales Of Wells Fargo were lumped together to make a few TV movies.....

yeah I was almost going to mention that trick... and how it doesn't really count. but why not.

the Steven Seagal series TRUE JUSTICE did that. put 2 x 45min episodes together to make a 'movie'. I have 3 of them on dvd, one has the inexplicable title VIOLENCE OF ACTION... wat?

I thought it was worth mentioning because a lot of the old serials of the '30s & '40s may have been forgotten if theaters hadn't started doing that in the 1950s.....

I guess the law of averages means one of them is set in space, right?

Sitting Duck

IIRC Perry Mason and Gunsmoke had some TV movies that aired in the late Eighties and early Nineties or so, with Raymond Burr and James Arness reprising their lead roles.

"Little House on the Prairie" ended with three TV movies. In the last one, they blow up the town!

Pokemon had some hour long specials, like "Mewtwo Returns". Not sure if those count.

Return to Mayberry - A TV movie sequel to "The Andy Griffith Show".

Return to Green Acres - A TV movie sequel to "Green Acres".

Both had similar plots; the main characters return to their old town & face an evil developer. (Going by Memory.)
