Jackie Chan's father was secretly a spy for the Chinese Nationalist Revolutionary Army as well as a gangboss.  He met Jackie's mother when he arrested her for smuggling opium into China. In addition to being an opium dealer, she was also a well known underground gambler. 

His father also told him that his name wasn't actually Chan at all.  It was Fang. 

Jackie didn't learn this facts until after his mother's death in 2001.  Jackie was 47 years old at the time.

On May 4th after an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show, Jim Henson admitted he was feeling ill. 

On May 13th, he canceled a scheduled recording season because he was still feeling ill. 

On May 15, at 2 AM, he woke up having trouble breathing and was coughing up blood.  He still didn't want to take the time to go to the hospital as he thought it would get in the way of his working and that the illness would go away on it's own.  It took his wife two hours to talk him into going to the hospital where he would later die from complications. 

The Hospital intensive care director said that if Henson had showed up just a few hours earlier, he most likely would have survived. 

As per his wishes, nobody at his memorial service wore black.  Big Bird was one of the guests at his service and performed "It's not easy being green" while wearing a green ribbon and obviously choking back tears.
