I've been trying to remember/find this movie for a long time; I saw it when I was young, say around 1971 or 1972 ish.  It may have been a Women In Prison movie and probably 'drama.'  The only thing I remember clearly is a woman lying down, facing away from the camera while two (or more) characters were talking/argueing about something.  As they got ready to leave, one of them stabbed the lying-down woman in her hips/buttocks with something - knitting needles as I remember, but maybe some other long, sharp pointed instrument.  She did not react, so either she was already dead or comatose or something.

Remembered less clearly: it SEEMED to be about some sort of gang issue; that's part of why I think it was a WIP movie.  I remember seeing it multiple times; my Mom watched it on cable, and as I recall, she was uncomfortable me watching it (she mostly wanted me to 'just play') while she watched it.

At first, from the title, I thought it was the 1963 remake of "The Old Dark House," but from the rest of the post, I realize it is not.

The remake is not near as good as the original, but the deaths are memorable, especially that of the old lady in the film, who is stabbed to death by a pair of knitting needles.

These do not look familiar, but I'll have to watch them to be sure.  ;)  (any excuse to watch a Romero zombie flick...or Tom Poston)
