Mick Foley video.  People can say what they want about him, "garbage wrestling", etc.  But, as a kid, I watched him go from WCW and Japan, to here in my hometown doing ECW shows, then getting the big call up to the WWF.  Maybe a generational thing, but in my top five or so of favorite wrestlers.

Eddie Guerrero wins WWE title for the first time.  One of the most deserving title wins I've seen.  Shame he's dead. :bluesad:

The original top wrestling faction! Look at all that gold! It's all about the gold! (or it should be)...The first three versions were the best though!

Actually I'm not so sure some of those gimmicks were really so bad. After all Hornswoggle, Roadkill and Eugene all had some success in those roles. Some more ridiculous ones they left out that really didn't get very far included: Papa Shango, Bastion Booger, Mantaur, Giant Gonzales, Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz, The Goon, T.L. Hopper and Nailz.

I remember all those as well as the ones mentioned in the article, the great memories of the past  :teddyr:

Memphis and Continental Wrestling had some of the silliest ones ever including some familair movie characters...they had wrestling versions of Lord Humongous (actually this was Sid Vicious under an hockey mask and he looked cool), Freddy Krueger, Leatherface (who also competed in Japan), The Mummy, The Battman. Calgary Stampede also had a Jason the Terrible (Jason Vorhees style) character.

I remember WCW having one of the Armstrongs as "Arachniman", an obvious attempt to utilize Spider-Man.  They just used gold and Purple. :buggedout:

Yeah he's on the above Cracked list. He actually looks more like The Shocker, a Spidey villain, to me.

I've seen my fair share of crappy gimmicks. The only one that got my very very angry and deeply offened me was Eugene.  :hatred: :hatred: :hatred:

What's really sad about the Eugene character who was initially very popular in WWE is that Nick Dinsmore is such a talented wrestler it's sad he has to rely on such a gimmick.

The sad thing is the Eugene character was his idea. His career was over from the moment he showed up as one of Bischoff's relatives.
