So apparently they've now combined the Smackdown and Raw rosters into one. Guess that means a lot of guys are about to get lost in the shuffle big time. Sad to see Punk already dropping down to mid-carder (as honestly he's about the least boring thing they have on their show these days as I'm terribly sick of both Orton and Cena being rammed down our throats week after week). So apparently Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne are now tag champions probably because they have no intention of pushing Kofi anywhere for the time being. Wouldn't be surprised to see more guys they don't know what else to do with turn up in the tag division (remember the glory days of established tag teams who dressed and acted alike and teamed for years?, seems like a century away these days instead of just the 80s, early 90s.)

I don't like the RAW super show idea

this lives little room for the midcard talent

also, Del Rio the champion mind you was not on tv last night, but hey we got Randy Orton instead  Thumbdown Thumbdown

So it looks like HHH vs. Punk at Night of Champions.  Apparently.  I missed some of Raw, saw they had Nash/Punk, then later on heard it's now HHH/Punk.

Yeah right at the end of the show, they changed it to Punk-HHH which seems rushed to me. I really think they should have done a bit of Punk-Nash first to help further establish Punk and then moved on to HHH later...yeah I hate the doing away with the two different brands as it's bound to put a lot of talent out of work in short order I expect. Wrestling really needs a real second brand like in the old glory days of ECW, WCW and before that the NWA, World Class and AWA.

If the WWE gets rid of anyone, I'm sure ROH or TNA will scoop up em.

But neither ROH or TNA is even near being a blip on the radar next to the gigantic WWE which still has no real competition IMO. They are not this generation's WCW or ECW, not even close.

Del Rio is on Smackdown tonight. They are having a Smackdown Supershow live tonight mixing Raw and Smackdown talent and it's Del Rio vs. Sin Cara and Christian vs. Randy Orton in a steel cage match for the World title as the main events.

I don't know what's going on with Del Rio but they replaced him with Daniel Bryan in the match against Mil Mascaras' nephew, Sin Cara. And it looks like Sin Cara may now be turning heel all of a sudden. Weird. That doesn't seem to suit him at all.

Here's one of my favourite wrestlers of the last decade who TNA has totally misused. ROH and Japan however have done much better by him.

Del Rio is down in Mexico.  He has had some problems with a visa.  I don't think the visa's up yet, but he has to take care of it now, otherwise he won't be allowed to travel with the WWE, as it's due to expire soon.

As for Sin Cara, they do have a new guy under the mask for now.  It's not Mistico as it originally was.  Mistico failed a Wellness Policy, suspended for 30 days, and was re-sent home recently.  It's uncertain for now if he's gonna be fired or not, but they have a developmental guy under the mask.  The character's a hit with fans, especially kids, and they invested money in the character so they wanna utilize it.

I agree with you there, for the most part.  But one has to remember, that while the NWA had a good run with Flair before Turner bought it, once he took over, WCW became a joke.  WCW was a big joke for a good 5 years or so before Bischoff took over, going so far as to rent out a 20,000 seat arena and only drawing a crowd of 400.  Bischoff took over and hired a bunch of recent WWF castoffs and made a run with it.  ECW was then what ROH is kinda doing now: a small indie fed with limited tv exposure getting a following through fans on the internet.  The biggest difference one could make is the companies in the '90s had several things going for them: a different tv landscape, the rise of the 'net, a more mature audience, and a crop of guys who had the chance to not only compete on the indie scene, but bounce around to Mexico, Canada, and Japan before coming into the ECW, then WCW, then the WWF.  Jericho's a perfect example.  By the time he got to the WWF in '99, he was still a YOUNG guy, but had the chance to compete in Canada, Mexico, then Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Japan, Germany, then ECW, then WCW.  He took that time and learned lucha libre, Japanese Strong Style, brawling and promos in America, etc.  New guys now, they don't get that chance.  A lot of them remain stuck in the indies, and if they're signed to a WWE deal, they're stuck in the FCW, learning the "WWE Style", where they're forced to do 8 minute matches and that's it.

TNA somehow has decent ratings, and could frankly compete with Smackdown.  It may not overtake Raw's ratings.  The problem with TNA is they tend to want ex-WWE guys like Matt and Jeff Hardy, Shannon Moore, etc, but those guys have pretty bad home lives that detract from any contributions they could make on tv.  Jeff was popular, showed up drugged up, and Sting pinned him in 90 seconds.  Just recently they announced they're bringing Jeff back.  On the day he's due in COURT no less.  So they're wasting all this time and money on a guy who may potentially be facing jail time or a reduced tv presence if he's not allowed to travel.  I am a fan of TNA to a degree but they make bad decisions.  Vince Russo is a decent writer, if he has a good editor in charge.  He even said himself, he was great in the WWF cause Vince McMahon would pour over his Raw Run-sheet, look at every segment, and then tell Russo which one's were good, and which to change.  In WCW he didn't have an executive do that.  They just put anything on the air, regardless.
