I actaully met him and got his autograph the day of No Way Out 2003 when he took on Goldust. RVD has a nice firm handshake.

I was a big fan of Vader, it greatly disappointed me how he didn't really accomplish much in WWF

I really think Vader was hampered by two things as he went to the WWF - Hogan no-selling his Vader powerbomb in WCW and Orndorff kicking his butt behind the scenes. I think it made it a bit harder to sell Vader as an unstoppable monster following this.

Cheesy AWA music video devoted to the Midnight Rockers. Rock on baby! Shake your booty!  :bouncegiggle:

DDP was so cool in the late 90s in WCW. Just couldn't help but root for him - "Self high-five!"

When I was a little kid, Andre the Giant was such a huge favourite! Later I'd even still root for him after he turned heel.

Good stuff.

Personally lately I've been missing WCW...perhaps it all the footage of Vader and DDP I've been watching lately. Interesting those two were both HUGE stars in WCW but never made much of an impact in WWF/WWE.

And who can forget those great WCW cruiserweights, something else WWE never seemed to be able to successfully replicate no matter how they tried...

Here's the thing I liked about ECW.  The ability to take a guy like Taz, who's much smaller than most pro wrestlers at the time, and make him a dominant, kick-ass, take no names type, and make him the champ:

I loved DDP in WCW.  When he initially debuted as the Stalker to Undertaker's wife, I popped like a little kid.  Then, it went downhill after that and he got buried on tv. :hatred:

Weren't we talking a while back about people who slammed Andre the Giant?

I still suspect Don Leo Jonathan also slammed Andre in Andre's Jean Ferre days.

The Dudley Boyz.  I was happy to see these guys successfully transition from ECW to the WWF.  They were a little bit toned down from their ECW stint, at least on the mic, but countless others have transitioned and been unsuccessful.

Lance Storm.  Here's a guy, who's probably still in my top five favorite wrestlers of all time.  He trained with Jericho breaking in the business, made it to ECW, then went to WCW and was a top guy there for a bit.  I believe he held the WCW Hardcore, WCW Cruiserweight, and WCW United States belts all at the same time, and even challenged for the World Title.  Then, WCW went out of business and he got to the WWF.  I think the problem with his run in the WWF was the WWF had recently acquired talent from both ECW and WCW, in addition to the roster they already had.  A lot of wrestlers got lost in the shuffle then.  Honestly, if they put him on SmackDown, and let him feud with the likes of Kurt Angle, Jericho, Benoit and Guerrero, as well as Edge and Mysterio, he'd have had a different WWE run.

This looks interesting...but I cannot seem to find out if it's been released anywhere as of yet....
