Homecoming 1945 (two discs, 45 recordings by various artists)  I've had this in my collection for close to 20 years, but had only uploaded 2 songs...    This is a great collection of 40s Pop and Swing.

Aye! I didnt grow up with this-I wasnt even born. But my neighbor Nickolia Siskaninitz-an old Russian who was in WWII-did-and he played the old big band records when I worked for him in the 70's. Gave me a sence of history. He spoke of Nazis,us,(he was Russian),the world-a world I was fascinated about but was about 20 years to young to have seen myself. I was born in 1962-I grew up with WWII veterens-there stories are fascinating-made me what I am.Made me think war is bullshiit-their is no God-(Nickolia said he was Catholic-WW2 turned him into an atheist). I learned a lot from these old honest warriors-ancient books mean nothing.Also taught me honesty. Never lie. Why? Makes no sense to lie. You only lie to yourself. Nobody will ever take you seriously if you lie. You cant live with yourself-I may be dissillullsioned-and change my mind-but I cant-wont-lie. I HAVE lied-but It seems so self defeating now-I would rather look like an idiot than look like a liar. I actually believe my garbage.

Nickolia told me that the Nazis would randomly go up and down the line-with a deck of cards diamonds,hearts,clubs--whoever got s spade-got shot. All spades. Horror films are evil? I dont think so. (at POW Camps- Nick was of Russian heritage-his parents left Russia during the Revolution-he fought for the USA)
