Free music Saturday!

Kreng - "Pleiades EP" - http://www.archive.org/details/Kreng-PleiadesEp

I can't remember why I bookmarked this one years ago, but I'm glad I did.  It's what you would call "dark ambient," but there's a bit more movement, color and texture than I usually find in the ambient genre.  Plus, the first track includes dialogue about my avatar, so I'm impressed.  Give it a try.

Supertramp - Crisis?  What Crisis?

Queensryche - Empire

Ennio Morricone - Morricone Western - Found this new at Half Price Books for about $7.  A neat compilation of some familiar and not-so-familiar Morricone tunes, but it comes in a nice hardback book with full color images of  Italian posters and stills from every Spaghetti Western he scored.

ALpocalypse by "Weird Al" Yankovic.  His newest cd, and he parodies Lady Gaga, B.o.B., Miley Cyrus, T.I., and Taylor Swift.  Also, he tackles The Doors and The White Stripes.

Sheik Yerbouti by Frank Zappa

Snatch - If The Party's In Your Mouth...We're Comin' (1985)

Very Rare 80s glam metal EP, not exactly sure why I'm bothering with it as it very poor in sound quality and in the song department. More of a pop punk/bubblegum vibe going on in the style of Motley/Poison but much, much worse.

The Shock Treatment Soundtrack.  There's actually some really good music on here.  I didn't like the movie at first, but the music has really won me over.

ELVIS PRESLEY The Sun Sessions

I've been listening to this one:

Elvis at Sun

Not sure what the differences between the two collections are.  This is really the only Elvis I consistently like.  It's country/rockabilly, not rock n' roll.

Sorry, must have missed it. No, not familiar with that track. Not my cup of tea if I'm honest.

The Throbs - Language Of Thieves & Vagabonds (1991)

The Stones, New York Dolls, Alice Cooper all thrown together and you get The Throbs. Should've gone on to achieve the same sales and respect as the likes of GNR and the Black Crowes. Produced by Bob Ezrin and it even has Little Richard on piano! Solid rock n' roll album. 9/10

The Japanese / American Noise Treaty. Good compilation featuring jap noise on one disc and US noise on the other. Now I've gotta buy Hater's "Drunk On Decay" cd!
