Buck Flower comes up a lot. Of course, I'm sure everyone on THESE boards knows him by name.

Irwin Keyes is another good one.

Here's another one I thought of...

James Hampton
He usually plays the dad in most movies I've seen him in.

Richard Masur
He's known for playing the dad in Encino Man and License to Drive.

Thinking of movie dads reminded me of Paul Dooley.

VINCENT SCHIAVELLI (subway ghost in GHOST)

A favorite of mine.  Also did Fast Times At Ridgemont High, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The People vs. Larry Flynt, and Man on The Moon amongst his best movies.
For anyone interested, SCHIAVELLI died the day after Christmas, 2005.  He did a ton of TV work, including on "Star Trek: TNG"

I think I saw him in a episode of McGyver once.

There is another guy who I can't think of his name, but he is in a lot of TV commercials as of late.  He is in a TruValue TV commercial, a commercial for Toyota in Nascar, and I've seen him on ads for Embarq phone books.

He was the organ grider in Batman Returns.

If God exists, why did he make me an atheist? Thats His first mistake.

He was also the spectral hobo who taught Patrick Swayze how to effect the physical world in Ghost and the heroin-addicted ex-children's T.V. star-cum-hitman in Death To Smoochy.

I love how, in THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI, his Red Lectroid form retains his sort of "sad sack" appearance.

Neville

He also tried to kill James Bond in "Tomorrow never dies", and was a psychiatrist threaten with death by Mickey and Mallory in "Natural Born Killers".
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I don't remember that scene in Natural Born Killers.
Was it one of the deleted scenes?

Neville

No, it was a very short scene, he was one of the pundits interviewed in one of the montages.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Thought of a couple more...

John Heard

He's been in a bunch of movies and played the dad in Home Alone.

Lane Smith

I didn't know he died back in 2005.  He was a good actor.

I didn't know he was dead! Loved that guy!
The Human Blood keeps them alive, FOREVER

Joe the Destroyer

Christopher George

It took me a few films to commit his name to memory.  I remember seeing him in quite a few 80's splatter flicks like City of the Living Dead and Pieces.  And he was married to Lynda Day.

John Saxon

I could never remember this guy's name for a long time.  I always referred to him as "the dad from Nightmare on Elm Street."   After seeing Cannibal Apocalypse and Tenebre I never forgot his name.

venomx

Yup, John Saxon was Roper in Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon (1973)

trekgeezer

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Richard Riehle

He played the guy who made the "Jump to Conclusions" mat in Office Space.
His last name is pronounced the same as the word "really".

Matt Frewer

He's kind of an interesting one because he was an 80s icon (albeit in a heavily made up and processed form), then seemed to get more obscure, doing guest appearances on TV, voice work, and smaller movie roles. I suppose he's a good character actor who happened to get lucky with a character. It's probably because of the Max Headroom makeup that he's not as well known as he might be, but I imagine it also kept him from being too closely associated with the character after moving on.
