I was thinking it was an Adamson flick, too.

Are there any other murdered exploitation directors?
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there were.

Yup-there are. 'nother hint-

X (thats the hint.)

Ol' Forry must have had a weakness for ultra-low budget movies in the early 70's. Just a couple of issue before he had DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN on the cover. Of course, he was IN that one!

Here ya go:

The wild-eyed character seen in the photo from a fairly recent film is well known in horror circles and has been portrayed several times on film since 1922.

Nadja?

Or my best guess...   Dracula: Pages from a Virgin's Diary?

Your best guess turns out to be - CORRECT!

That's Renfield from Guy Maddin's decidely creepy and weird silent film DRACULA: PAGES FROM A VIRGIN'S DIARY - with a cast of ballet dancers.

Here's his take on the staking of the undead Lucy:

"NO KISSING!"

Yeah, I guessed it was Renfield after initially thinking maybe Sweeney Todd - but he didn't appear in film until 1926.  That film looks pretty cool, too, I saw several clips on youtube.  A few scenes there show you why Super8 film refuses to die.  I added it to my netflix queue.   Smile

Getting a new pic now, I'll post it soon.

Ok, here we go.  This will probably be the hardest movie I ever post.  It's not impossible though, thanks to my judicious hints ;-p

The quality is bad because the DVD I have of this film is atrocious.  I'm not sure what its original source is, but I'd guess a low quality VHS.  No subtitles either.

One major hint: identify what's on the left, and who is on the right, and google reveals the answer.

This is not on the imdb.  It is, however, on the Hong Kong MDB.  There's a relatively easy way to find this film on the HKMDB thanks to an error in the listing for one of the lead actors.

That's one of its titles.  Good luck finding a copy of it.  Yeesh.  Go ahead!
