Here's a pic of Jarboe (Swans) that I screwed up earlier.

Okay boyz, gimme room, let's start with VLADO PERLEMUTER who died in 2002.

I can't believe I've lost all of my youtube links, which are sometimes very hard to find over there, yet, I was able to unearth VLADO playing Le Tombeau de Couperin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6TFWsaf3g8
I had a very hard time finding this, but here it is, the most glorious piece of piano music played by the master.  Listen.  Listen.  Here is Ondine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez1s9JCzvQg&feature=related
Here is part 2, Le Gibet.  This piece was used in THE HUNGER
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXdwmrT2A1k&feature=related
And finally, the most difficult piece for pianists in all of the catalogue, part 3, Scarbo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMRrcSEVzgI&feature=related
The three comprise the Gaspard de la Nuit.  It's been said that in order to play Scarbo one must have wrists of steel and eyes in the fingertips.  You'd better all listen to these.  This fellow (MARCO FRANCINI) can certainly play Scarbo, but he lacks the delicacy of VLADO:

Yet this fellow is all delicacy and no power:

20. Samson Francoise Playing "Scarbo", just for AHD!
Well, thank you, REVFRANCOISE is a bit sloppy, overcharged, and he's certainly doing some reinterpretation; I do like his flourish at the end.

RICHARD WRIGHT, whom we've just lost:

26. Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep)

URIAH HEEP...??  "Heep" is right... but it did remind me of one of my guilty pleasures!

JOSHUA RIFKIN   Okay, I couldn't find any really good clips, but if you're patient, he does play, and man can he play:

29. Herbie Hancock

Another Miles Davis sideman made good.  Here he is showing off on his Fairlight CMI, an early synthesizer (ca. 1979-1980).  Anyone with an interest in early sampling technology will enjoy this clip (Herbie plays pretty well, too.)
