While I do like some his movies, most of the Christopher Nolan's stuff is extremely overrated. The man can take a dump in front of the camera for three hours (because that's how long it's going to be for sure) and everyone will go nuts for it.

The man is simply pretentious, and I feel like he's now just making movies to show off his skills and techniques instead of achieving a good movie, kinda like the Coen Brothers do.
I feel the same way about Zach Snyder.  He wants his movies to look awesome to the expense of things like pacing, mood, and coherent plot.

Glad I am not alone in my dislike for every single Snyder movie.  I would have walked out on 300 - however, my ride wanted to stay.  I found 300 to be one of the worst movies ever made. I refuse to watch "The Watchmen" because I know his lack of vision and general movie making skills are p**s poor.   I saw one of his other movies... and was equally unimpressed.   Don't know why society at large finds his films "brilliant" at all.

A Christmas Story
I'm glad I'm not the only one.  I still can't figure out why that POS is such a beloved classic that they'll play it for 24 hours straight on TV.

The 24 Hour marathon was a way to kill three birds with one stone.

1. It originally was a cheap gimmicky ratings stunt and worked well enough to become a tradition
2. It saved money and operating costs by only needing a skeleton crew to play the same program over and over
3. Relating to the second point, it also ensured more workers had Christmas off since they only needed a very bare minimum crew of workers for the marathon

Ugh, I thought VERTIGO was such a mediocre movie. Most of the time you just see the main character driving his car. Boring as hell.

And to be honest, most of Mel Brooks' stuff is quite cringeworthy. His style tends to be easily recognizable, especially with his overuse of breaking the fourth wall. It's funny the first time, by the tenth time, it's just feel like they're not even trying.

Top Gun. Nonsense.

I recently saw a chunk of that again on TV, and I realised that my 1986 self had apparently zoned out whenever there weren't any aircraft on screen.

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. A disgusting piece of drek posing as clever social satire. I felt bored and nauseated the entire ride while watching this thing. Probably one of my most hated films ever. It doesn't even look good.

I'd rather watch CITIZEN KANE, and I say that without an ounce of sarcasm. At least that one will only put me to sleep instead of causing me a gag reflex.

Donnie Darko. Now, I can't say "EVERYONE" likes it, but in my core group of friends and co-workers, they LOVE this thing.

I've watched a few times and I just don't dig it.

I've never seen TOP GUN, boycotted it as a kid, assuming anything my peers liked was crap.

The sequel was mediocre. Flying scenes were great, rest was crap.

I think I am totally on my own when I say that I dislike The Shining, District 9 and Invictus 😳
