What MOVIES do you HATE  :hatred: that EVERYBODY ELSE LIKES ??
I can think of one: MARY POPPINS... BEETLEJUICE too, but there was another that inspired this thread... I just can't remember at this moment...  :drink:
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Jack

Shawn of the Dead - Everybody loves this stinkin' thing, it's soooo awesomely hilarious.  I turned it off halfway through.  Wasn't the least bit funny, just a bunch of slackers standing around being slackers.  I've seen that crap done 10 times better in just about any other movie with that type of characters.

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

GANGS OF NEW YORK . . . .

Waaayyy too long.  Storyline too simplistic.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

Doggett

Four Wedding and a Funeral.

In fact, anything with Richard Curtis' name on.

Hardly any big films get made in this country and when they do it's always him and Hugh Grant ! :hatred:

This is gonna be blasphemous around here, it seems, but I gotta admit that I hate:
Star Wars- and any film in it's franchise.  All 6 of them.  Ugh.
Indiana Jones- all of the flicks.  Don't like them.  Harrison Ford isn't an actor I particularly like.
Mary Poppins- yeah, I don't like this either.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

Doc Daneeka

You've all heard it before but REAR WINDOW. Overrated spoiled-milk suspense, overrated melodramatic romance, overrated symbolism that takes over the whole plot... I love Hitchcock, and this is not even close to his best as so many say.

CHUD. I understand this has a big cult following, yet I don't see anything that could really attract a cult! Characters not given enough plot to be really likeable, monsters barely show up, abrupt, dull ending...

Horror of Dracula. Okay, I did not hate the beginning and end, which were brilliant as Christopher Lee went mad in one of the scariest incarnations of the title role! However, besides this, "Horror" was absolutely maddening: We have perhaps the most blockheaded and plain stupid characters to hit the screen (Strangers-haters need to watch this for really stupid characters), making illogical decisions whilst haunted by largely-predictable suspense-scenes!

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

.ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SOW.  :hatred:

Why-Oh why-does everyone who finds out I like off the wall movies automaticaly think I'm a fan of this insipid musical junk? Being as it has Meatloafis alone to put me off it!
.Most anything with Adam Sandler....BILLY MADISON comes to mind,as does MR.SMITH. I wouldn't be surprised if this talentless shmuck someday wins an Oscar....because kids nowadays are so inuated with mindless action and stupid fluff that junk like this passes for quality movie going fare.
.I agree 100% with Happy on the STAR WARS series of films. Gimme the old Flash Gordon serials any day!

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

I'd have to second Adam Sandler and toss Will Ferrell in with him.  The fine application of a steamroller to them and their films would be fitting.

As far as individual movies, "E.T.", "Jurassic Park," any of the Matrix films, "Goonies", most recent Disney cartoon films...the list may be shorter if I listed what I do like that everyone else likes.

A Fish Called Wanda

This is one everyone's favorite comedy list, but I don't find it funny at all.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

I don't like the following:
Titanic: It's too depressing and it doesn't leave me feeling happy after viewing it.
The original King Kong: No offense, but it doesn't interest me.  I do, however, think it is ground breaking for its time.
Snow White:  Its one of the few animated pictures from Disney that I don't like.
Toy Story:  This film always seems to leave a bad taste in my mouth after watching it.  I like Toy Story 2, however.
Any of the Lord of the Rings films: I know they are supposedly epic and all that, but they never drew my interest.

I know these are all great movies and I respect their signfiance they had on the film industry, but I just don't see how great they are.

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I don't understand the Rocky Horror thing either.  The first time I saw it was when I was 14 and I thought it was cool, but I disliked it more and more everytime I saw it after that.  I really like Tim Curry though, just not this movie.

I don't like Scarface.  Granted I only saw it once and was forced into it, i just remember watching and watching and then sitting upside down on the couch out of boredom, falling asleep and then waking up and thinking "yay! it's almost over!" and then being told there was almost 2 hours left.

I also didn't like the few Rob Zombie movies I saw.  House of 1000 Corpses to me was Texas Chainsaw Massacre + a Rob Zombie video and it = stupid.  His version of Halloween was trashy garbage.  He overuses profanity to the point where it has no meaning and I'd like to punch him.

I saw that movie when it was new in the theatre (it was a huge hit).  I didn't like it very much (the only part that I really thought was funny was the squashed dog - the part that offends everyone else...  :tongueout:)

I do like SCARFACE, but can understand that reaction and know lots of people who don't like it.

I hate ROB ZOMBIE's movies; they're stupid, manipulative, and mean.
