I am aware of the time frame.  It is still out of place to pull that when you are there to raise funds and support for the Red Cross.  A wise man knows when to speak and when to be quiet.  He was not being wise.  The outburst is still haunting him because it was inappropriate in that time and place.  A national "community conference" with celebrities discussing the situation would have been appropriate.

I'd never accuse West of trying to be cute in his comments, some of which, truth be told, I felt had some merit.  I just don't feel that was the place for him to have done that.
