The Worst VHS Cover Artwork!

OK, so this cover is coll, but that's the point. I rented this piece of crap thinking it was about some cool killer goth chick, and it turned out to be about a lesbian goth chick that was molested and I never even found out who the heck was killing everyone (it wasn't her). Plus, she doesn't look anything like on the cover.

I thought it was Edward Scissor Hands's sister!

Seriously, go see this movie! The front cover suggests it's a Sword and Sorcery Fantasy film, while the back says it's a movie about cavemen. Further more check out the sword on the front cover-- how the hell can anyone swing that! Also note how the artist was reluctant to draw the sword holders face.

I like how a lot of these pieces of VHS cover artwork look like early thrash and death metal cover art.

I love how many fantasy B-Movies have hot redheads on their covers.

Nukie - you should check out Land of Doom.  It's terrible but actually pretty entertaining.  I also have to comment that, even if a hand crossbow is ridiculous (the one in the movie is very similar to the one in the Road Warrior, BTW) that cover artwork is actually REALLY good.



I think ones like that are amongst the worst, due to the total lack of any creativity at all.

Plus, since these kinds of films have a dead body as their artwork, they remind people of snuff.

True, but you know it's going to be a bad movie because of the cover, as it features people in fruity costumes!

I'm actually kind of fond of all the old hand drawn covers but wow that first posting with the Cannibal Campout or whatever has to be one of the WORST I've ever seen! LOL

Ugh.  Don't mind me.  I don't need that memory surfacing.  The movie poster is terrible, but the DVD release from Something Weird is horrendous.

Oh sure, it isn't a movie, but I have never seen such lazy cover work in my life!  This thing tells nothing about what is going on or what it has to do with guitars or with being a hero.  I mean look at the previous game's cover:



It at least shows us what is going on!

Well, that would be a guitar carry case and there's some leads an a foot pedal on the ground. So it does have something to do with guitars. Now, if only the game had something to do with guitars....
