Floating head syndrome  .  This movie looks like a cross between Creature From the Black Lagoon and some Indian movie.  No wonder the girl is freaked  .  Worth a watch.

It reminds me of the Ymir from 20 Million Miles to Earth (which the Kraken seems to borrow heavily from).

Is THE BEAST supposed to be the erotic film LA BETE?  With the horse f*cking scenes and the black beast with the perpetually erect wang chasing the girl?

It wishes it was. It is actually EQUINOX, a rather interesting film with stop-motion work by Jim Danforth, and it has a young Frank Bonner, who made it big playing Herb Tarlek in WKRP.

And the cover isn't as horrible as the rather bland new title is.

SURPRISE ATTACK also sounds like it could be about intestinal distress.
We should go back and update the "Make you own made-up movie review" or whatever it was called thread.  Where we put in one line at a time (plot, characters, things I learned from the movie, quotes, etc.).  That was kinda fun!

Gee, looking at the cover, I'm starting to see where Konami got part of the idea for the marquee and side-cabin artwork for their old game, "Green Beret" aka "Rush N' Attack".

That was an awfully boring trend, the 80s version of floating heads, where they'd just stick a random still from the movie in a grey background.
