The first one is post modern, but the second one looks like a gritty reboot attempt.

Sorry for the necro, but i would very much like to see this thread resurrected. I had so many laughs with it, and i think there's probably a lot of "new" material to show.

Has that zombie seen something horrible looking up or what?

Always thought whoever designed the one for Bangkok Dangerous deserved a special punishment.

That guy on the right looks like he's got a light sabre coming out of his crotch!  He's using the Schwartz!

I'm sorry, man, you can't make Petr Graves looks like a James Bond action hero.  This looks more like a Naked Gun cover, and that was a parody.

Put your shirt back on dude, you look like you're 15.  (or at least actually grow some muscles)

Why is the girl a gun?  I have no clue what the symbolism here is supposed to mean.

For those who don't know it, this is a Western localization of the Miyazaki anime film, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.  Total hack job (cuts 20 minutes, bad changes to the theme of the story from the edits, usually a bad dub), but the original version is a classic.  I'd never seen this cover before, the other Warriors of the Wind cover is much better:

Looks like it's trying to simultaneously rip off Heavy Metal and Dune. I mean I'd watch a Heavy Metal-Dune crossover flick, but still.

What amuses me the most about the Warriors of the Wind cover is that the characters at the front and center of the boxart are either not in the movie or so minor that you won't remember them while the actual main character (the girl) is pushed back into the background.

This is the least enthusiastic action pose I've ever seen.  The guy looks like William Shatner's less impressive stand-in.

And the buzzsaw on his shoe looks less like a dangerous weapon and more like he hurt himself.

I have a local release VHS box of An Eye For An Eye which gets EVERYTHING about the movie wrong. I sent a pic of it to Steve Carver (RIP) when I was still on FB and he messaged me back saying "Who the F released that?"  :buggedout:
