DBZ was pretty f**ked up as a kids show: Blood, dismembered limbs, gruesome deaths to say a few.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

Anyone remember "Mr. Smith" that show about a talking ape?
What about that weird rocking chair bound evangelist, Dr. Gene Scott?
And I've asked about this before: Has anyone besides me, ever seen or heard of a weird music video show called "Telestar?"

Even weirder than Gene Scott is his porn star wife Melissa Scott. Try figuring out what the hell she is talking about on her televangelist shows. She is fine though...

I remember Mr. Smith. He was a talking orangutan who wore a three piece suit and was a Washington DC consultant, or something. I think it lasted about three episodes.

The opening credits are around 4:40 - right before the credits for Manimal!

Trigun comes to mind, it's...bizarre IMO. weird guns, funny plot, character interaction is hilarious.

I've searched for it for years. But I can find no record of a 1980's music video show called "Tel-Star." It was a weird show. The only thing is, I can't find any evidence that proves it ever existed! I think it was so bad, that all the copies of the show were destroyed and it's cast and crew possibly killed, lol.

Yes that twisted old acid trip of a TV Show from the 60s. The Prisoner!
When I first saw this show more than 20 years ago, I couldn't make heads or tails of it.  Some guy is taken off the street and made an inmate at some mysterious holding facility.  But instead of finding a way out, he is looking for Prisoner Number 1.  At the end of the show, he finally meets Prisoner Number 1.  But it raises more questions than it answers,  Prisoner Number 1 is just some guy in shrouds and a mask so we never see his or her face.  And no words are exchanged.

Another really weird show I saw 20 years ago was called Automan.  Automan was some computer-generated human analogue brought to life when lightning hits the computer he was in.  Now if I remember this correctly, he had a little friend who could change into any vehicle he needed.  Also he and his friend could only appear at night.

Now the last weird TV Show I remember from almost 30 years ago was called The Powers of Matthew Star.  It starred Louis Gossett Jr.  It was all about a teenage boy named Matthew Star who was really the prince of a planet called Quadris conquered by an alien race.  Louis Gossett Jr played his legal guardian, teacher and royal attache Walt Shepherd.  Matthew looked human in every respect.  What made him different from his classmates was he had psychokinetic powers.  The show stated that only members of the royal family from Quadris had these powers.

I remember this show!! Nikki Cox... mmmmmmmmmm, that's the kinda sugar papa likes...

Reading thru that Wiki entry, I find it hard to believe that the show ran for four and a half (!) seasons. It was basically a luke warm "Married: With Children" wanna-be from what I remember. Though it did have a talking bunny.  :question:

The New Scooby Doo Movies. The second incarnation of Scooby Doo, from the early 70s. A weird hodgepodge of celebrity guests appear as fictionalized versions of themselves and do their shtick while solving a mystery with Scooby and the gang. It's almost surreal.
