THE BEST GORY DEATHS

Hey B-movie lovers!
What were some of the messier deaths you can recall in a film (doesn't have to be horror) where much red stuff (or innards, yummy!) was present?  Ones that made you stand and applaud, or get off the couch and high-five your friend?

A couple I liked:

A guy gets his head pulled off his body while screaming by a monster in THE RELIC.  Then the headless body gets thrown on spikes.  Yes!!!

A kid murders his mom and boyfriend with an axe while they're having kinky sex in NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN (aka Nightmare).  IIRC he chops her in the neck, then beheads her (with loving closeup of spurting stump) and chops the boyfriend in the head.  More red stuff than an Italian restaurant could hope to have!

Well the best one in recent memory for me was when Pyramid Head ripped the entire skin off of that girl and flung against the church doors in SILENT HILL. Pretty unexpected for a relatively mainstream film.

Re-Animator has it's share of classic gory scenes. I'd have to say the most memorable for me was the organs bursting out of a headless body and attacking West. Very messed up. But the movie has more scenes of over-the-top gore than I would care to list.

List as many as you like!  My personal fave.. pulling the skin off the guy's face and leaving a screaming skull.  Hells yeah!

  I love why the MPAA gave it an R rating:
Rated R for an abundance of outrageous gore.

Reading that just made my day.

That one too was my favorite along with the zombie getting a garden gnome stuffed into his neck stump.

Starship Troopers 2 had some icky stuff in it.  A guy had a bunch of bugs growing inside of him, and his body was decaying, limbs falling off.  Another guy ripped the top of his skull off and bugs came pouring out.  A woman had a bug in her head, so she put a shotgun under her chin and blew her brains all over the freakin' place.  Icky

Made even better because Tom Savini is the guy being shot, AND he played the killer in that sequence.  They did the effect by actually shooting a fake head of Savini with a real shotgun - so, Tom Savini was shooting himself in the head!

The Big Heat (1988 loose Hong Kong remake, not the original) has a couple really good ones, especially because they're in the context of a cop show and for an HK film, the action scenes are relatively subdued.

One other one, which you can see glimpses of in the trailer.  In the opening, a guy gets chased and falls into a puddle of gasoline.  Then he gets lit on fire and runs around screaming for a while.  Then the bad guys RAM HIM with a car, he flies like 50 feet and smashes into a bunch of gasoline filled barrels which EXPLODE.
