"2112": no -1
Willie Nelson: you tried to hedge your bets with a "maybe," but they are both on the list so I'll give you +2.
"News of the World: no, -1
"Birth of the Cool": no (suprisingly, except that there are so many Miles albums to choose from) -1

Net: -1.

With the ability to get negative points for wrong answers, making multiple guesses worked to Derf's disadvantage.  Smile

Though I'm tempted to give you something for Scott Joplin, I'm not going to.   Wink  He picked a very specific album to represent Scott Joplin that I don't think anyone would have ever heard of.  -1

As far as I can tell, this 1,000 recordings list is a load of hogwash.  Impossible for some of the songs and albums listed here not to be on it.  I'm still baffled by Led Zep IV not being on the list.  But I'll have some more guesses forthcoming anyway . . .

Every list is surely going to cause some debate.  And remember that of the 1,000 recordings, even though rock is the largest category, the majority of the list is taken up by classical, jazz, folk, gospel, and world music.  If it were 1000 rock recordings I'm sure that those others would have made the list.  Though I still disagree with his Led Zeppelin selections.  (Hint: he obviously thinks that IV is no better than the 3rd best Zeppelin recording).

ROBERT STRICKLAND??  Question Drink

Here's my next guess:
THE KINKS Are The Village Green Preservation Society

Robert Stickland is not a guess?  I will PM you the name of the Joplin disc if you are curious but don't want to make an official guess.

AHD: "The Village Green Preservation Society" is correct, +1
DCA: "The Velvet Underground & Nico" is correct (the correct title and also on the list), +1.  By the way that guess ties you for the lead with Circus.
Burgo: I am afraid you will yell Tom Moon, but "End of the Century" did not make it.  -1
Jack: Sorry, Perlman's caprices did not make it as an official choice, though it was a "catalog choice" for Perlman. -1.  (You would have got 2 points for that one if it was on the list).

Circus_Circus +3, DCA +3, Jack +1,  Allhallowsday +1, Doggett + 0.5,  BTM -1, Derf -1, WilliamWeird -1, The DarkSider -1, The Burgomaster -3, Andrew -3

ELVIS COSTELLO - My Aim is True

You are KILLING me!  I hate giving out all these -1's for good guesses.  There was one Elvis Costello album on the list and its was NOT "My Aim Is True."  Bluesad  Though that's certainly the one I would have picked.

Circus_Circus +3, DCA +3, Jack +1,  Allhallowsday +1, Doggett + 0.5,  BTM -1, Derf -1, WilliamWeird -1, The DarkSider -1,  Andrew -3, The Burgomaster -4
