A lot of well known actors of today got their start in less than memorable roles in less than memorable movies.   There are a few listed though that could be listed in  the "GOOD" movies catagory. I just think the "BAD" list would be longer.  Here's a sampling:

CRITTERS 3  1991                                           Leonardo Dicaprio
RETURN TO HORROR HIGH 1987
RETURN OF THE KILLER TOMATOES 1988              George Clooney
I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST
SUMMER 1998                                                  Jack Black
FRIDAY THE 13TH 1980                                      Kevin Bacon
C.H.U.D. 1984                                                  John Goodman
PARASITE  1985                                                Demi Moore
THE POSSESSED 1977 (MADE FOR TV)                  Harrison Ford
REVENGE OF THE CREATURE 1955                        Clint Eastwood (age 22)
GHOULIES 1985                                                Mariska Hargitay
WITHOUT WARNING 1980                                    David Caruso
A STUDY IN TERROR 1965                                    Judi Dench "M" from 007 movies
ONCE BITTEN 1985                                             Jim  Carey
I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF 1957                       Michael Landon

Hey SL!  See, that covers you being either Silverlady or Silverlaldy.

I like this subject.. there's lots of movies that actors/actresses would likely leave off their resume if they could.  A few:

Whoopi Goldberg- The Telephone (as well as Rip Torn directing it)
Ernest Borgnine- Deadly Blessing
Dennis Hopper- Super Mario Bros.
Glenn Ford- Happy Birthday To Me
Joan Crawford- Trog

I worked with and chatted with John Goodman on a weekend occasion ("The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" - OtherWorld Media/PRI/Lodestone), and he wasn't embarrased by either CHUD or Arachnaphobia, but he did express a preferance for Coen Brothers insanity -

I have no idea what this means.

Raffine

I recently watched Brad Pitt in CUTTING CLASS (1989). I don't know his feelings about it - but I was certainly embarrassed for him.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

The Burning - Jason Alexander

Because I love Seinfeld, it was freaky to see JA in that movie with hair! It was a highly enjoyable movie though.

Tom Cruise - LEGEND...
Though perceived as a career misstep at it's creation, CRUISE got the opportunity to work with the young RIDLEY SCOTT.  I don't think TOM would want to forget this one all these years later; LEGEND was quite the flop in its day, but it always looked fantastic and the cache of this film continues to grow, plus it is truly one of RIDLEY SCOTT's great films.

Peter Sellers in The Fiendish Plot Of Dr. Fu Manchu.
Michael Caine in Jaws IV, The Hand, Blame It On Rio, actually a lot of films!
Peter Ustinov in Charlie Chan And The Curse Of The Dragon Queen.
