Country Strong

Yep, this goes in good movies.  The trailers for this movie are rather misleading.  The trailers led me to believe that Country Strong would be an uplifting tale about an alcoholic singer conquering her addiction and making a comeback, in the process thwarting an upstart who's trying to steal the spotlight.

Well, no.  Country Strong takes a rather different direction than that.  It's actually a pretty depressing movie for the most part.  The highest level of happiness it ever reaches is bittersweet.  The characters are well-drawn, the story is believable, and no one does anything stupid just to advance the plot.

Country Strong is one of the best check flicks I've ever seen.

Guys, don't be afraid of it.

I thought the ads for the movie made it look like utter s**t, but now I'd be willing to give it a go, I guess.
