I started this topic to get some ideas and suggestions for classic UFO movies.

Movies that I've watched already (and enjoyed)...

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)

The War of the Worlds (1953)

How about your favorites? Maybe suggestions?

MrMari

Hands down my favorite would be REAL MEN 1987.

Its a very underrated comedy from the 80s with UFOs as part of the unbelievable plot. I highly recommend this one for some laughs.

Invaders from Mars (1953)

The Thing from another world (1951)
The Thing (1982)
Hold onto your dreams ....

Double-whammy.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and the 1978 remake with Donald Sutherland are both excellent.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Shame on me. Yes, The Thing (1982) that's on my list as well, I loved it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Quatermass and the Pit (1967)
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956)
This Island Earth (1955)

Invaders from Mars (1953)
heh, the green invaders are so crappy great!

CRITTERS (they come from a spaceship)

I want to see PAUL because it's got Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in it and they're usually funny

venomx

I always wanted to know...

1. What was that UFO/monster movie Raffine had as his avatar a while back?

2. Jack... is that Kelly Bundy in your avatar?

Quatermass and the Pit has already been mentioned and it's probably my favourite too. Anyways some not mentioned---

Flight to Mars (kinda fun but not that great really, still likable cast helps)
Rocketship X-M (surprisingly good)
It! The Terror From Beyond Space (an arguably inspiration for Alien)
It Came From Outer Space (probably one of the very best and often most overlooked classic Sci-fi gems)
Robinson Crusoe on Mars (really good stuff despite low budget)
The Angry Red Planet (loads of fun and get a load of those monsters)
Queen of Blood (better than I expected, rather creepy)
Journey to the Seventh Planet (has some unexpected twists up its sleeve, lots of fun IMO and it's got John Agar)
The Day Mars Invaded Earth (kind of neat little low budget chiller)
Stranger From Venus (familiar plot done better before but still kind of interesting to watch)
The Cosmic Man (I rather liked this one)
Lifeforce (almost like a mesh of Queen of Blood and Quatermass and the Pit)

Queen of Blood (1966) does look creepy, I may need to see that yet, plus it has John Saxon, that's cool.

BTW why does everyone like Quatermass and the Pit? I have never watched it. I think I will later.
