Eminem- I liked "Mosh" and his more audacious rhymes but alot of his songs with the sort of self help lyrics are just not my thing

Pearl Jam- similarly, too heavy emotionally for me.

Mr. DS

I'm with Jack on Clapton though I really liked him in Cream.

They had IT.  Who thought they be OVERRATED???    Poor li'l ol' poor li'l ol'... NOT.   :teddyr:
Meh.  I just don't get it.  Plus, go on Google, look up "overrated bands", and Zeppelin falls on many lists.  Kudos to you.  You like them.
So where are my kudos?    Stingy old Pop witch.

There will always be haters.  Hatred when it is institutionalized is FASCISM or NAZISM.  You don't know anything listing THE WHO, ERIC CLAPTON, or even CREAM in that context.  You know a speck and don't like it.  That's cool, but don't denigrate.  That's a mistake; not everything admired is worthless.

I don't think you've listened to any of  'em, but ultimately I'd call them POP, so it's right up my alley.
So I have listened.  >Elbow... >ass.  Who loves you you little pain in the ass?

Well, I never said I felt that U2, Cream, Clapton, or Who are overrated.  Just Zeppelin.  I've heard a lot of Zeppelin.  Do NOT like them, but they have fans.  I respect that.  I'm not saying they're 'worthless'.  Just not the type of music I dig.  I have listened to all the bands I listed, and don't like em.

There's plenty of bands I like that people hate.  On a daily basis, when I take music to work, I'm told that the following suck and/or overrated:
Aerosmith
Elton John
Billy Joel
Queen
The Clash
The Ramones
The New York Dolls
Iggy and The Stooges
Black Sabbath
Weird Al Yankovic
The Cure
Devo

I'm also a huge fan of some of the classic rock and Motown groups of the '50s and '60s.  Like, The Ronettes, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Shirelles, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, etc.

I'm not quite sure where you're going with your post.  I think we share a bit more taste in this department.  But, hell, Zeppelin, not my cup of tea.

Never could get into Amon Amarth. I only like one song, but that's because it reminds me of Children of Bodom (the song features a guitarist from CoB :I)
yeah no.

I've previously stated my total disinterest in all things Dream Theater in this thread, but now that it's been bumped, I've thought of another semi-legendary metal band that has seemingly passed me by all these years: Fates Warning.

For whatever reason, much like D.T., FW and I have just never "clicked." I had a friend who, when he found out I was never a Fates Warning fan, burnt me copies of their entire discography so I could check them out, and ... I just wasn't feelin'em at all.

News recently broke that Fates Warning is about to release their first new album in a number of years, which was met with an absolute torrent of fanboy jizz on a couple of metal forums that I hang out on. Meanwhile, my reaction was "(Shrugs shoulders)"....

Janis? Really?

Wow.Just...wow.

I listen to Janis-I wanna cry.
There was no big money hype behind Janis. She was a Texas girl...drank way too much...not a beauty queen. But DAM! That girl had HEART!

My Ma went to Woodstock-and she said Janis was what impressed her-and most of the folks there-the most.

You got so many phoney idiots-Lady GaGa? Beyonce? Man,please.
Janis wasnt in it for the money. She sang from her HEART! She was real people. No flash, goofy ass costumes. Just her and her great voice and heart and soul.

Janis put her heart on her sleeve. She didnt give a f**k.She just did it.I love her.
