How's the weather?

We had lasting snow and temps below 0°C for 1 1/2 weeks.
It took 3°C and rain yesterday to wash and melt all the snow away

Darkly overcast and promising heavy rain.

It's going to snow Thursday and then the temperatures will remain well under freezing until the early part of next week, which means we'll have a rare white Christmas.

The local weather forecasters tend to be alarmists (except last July when we had three tornadoes in the area in fifteen minutes and they completely missed warning of that) but it is catching my attention to hear ice, sub-zero temperatures, and fifty mile an hour winds predicted because that's the scenario you look out for: ice weighting down trees and power lines, then temperatures that low when the power is out? People freeze inside their homes and sometimes asphyxiate themselves running cars in iced-in garages to keep warm. So it could be a bleak Christmas if we get that trifecta here as predicted.

It was 22 degrees F on the way to work today.  Rain/ice later.  Many are probably expecting to leave early but I'm not sure I'll get to, as my unit is busy yet again.

This is why I hate winter. I have to run two space heaters to get my workspace up to a tolerable temperature, and it quickly gets TOO warm. Then turn one off, and it quickly gets TOO cold again.

There is a pool here which I clean several times weekly but can't use.
