Another 44C humidex day.  I keep telling myself that it is worse elsewhere (the weather station reports that NYC has a humidex today of 49C and Chicago is at 52C!) but that does not seem to help much.  :bluesad:  Best part of the day was hosing the horses down by myself: we all got totally soaking wet with cold water from the hose.  Ahhhh! I just may have got a little sloppy with it on purpose.   (No a/c you see: got to get primitive)

Try living in Pretoria which is built in a huge dip and all the cold air rushes overhead.  :buggedout:

Apparently, it was around 97° Farenheit today. With humidity and heat index, over 100°.

I'm sweating in places I shouldn't. Thank Heavens my job has a walk-in freezer kept at 0°. I was in there alot.

It's been around 30C for nearly two weeks, and it won't change till next week Friday according to forecast. They are predicting thunderstorms on Friday, our first in almost four, five weeks.

Around the mid-high 80's today here in the Northeast. You should have seen our AC unit on Thursday and Friday when it was over 100 F.  The water ran out of it all day and totally soaked our porch and the welcome mat.  This really drove home the point abut the amount of humidity in the air.

Thunder and lightning... dark and windy.

Beautiful.

Just like an old black and white 1950's haunted house movie.

We're heading into spring as from next week: looks like it was a short but chilly winter.

Hot and humid this week.  Think it hit 98 Tuesday, but it's been cooling down slowly and it's only supposed to hit 88 today.

Crisp and cool, very Fall-like at 11 degrees Celsius.

Good god it's actually raining here.  I'd forgotten what the stuff looked like.

Weather in August in Germany here was too hot, too dry (both way above the averages) and we had more sunshine than the usual norm. We still had a few hot days at the beginning of September, but things have been cooling down in the last ten days or so. Lots of rain almost every day and night, morning fog, chilly nights and temps between 52-60 F.
They are predicting a "golden Autumn" but I hate those more than a hot summer. We had a "golden Autumn" two years ago, with people walking around in tees and shorts in October. It was totally surreal.

JaseSF

Cold, windy, dreary, rainy at about 5 degrees Celsius. Hasn't been the sunny Fall I'd hoped for so far...

06:27 AM - 39 F. I woke up from the cold because my window was a bit open. It's near freezing

Jack

Had a great big thunderstorm last night, we actually had the computers and TV's turned off for fear of a power surge from a lightning strike.  Wake up this morning and I've got wet carpeting around the outside perimeter of the basement.  That's only happened once before in the 18 years we've lived here, and that time the whole area got declared a disaster area due to all the flooding and stuff.  So that was one hell of a rainstorm last night.  :buggedout:

I was so looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend too.  Now I get to move furniture and shampoo carpeting.  You never realize how much crap there is in a room until you've got to move it all and it's all damp on the bottom
