Can't somebody come up with a 100th album?
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

100.

R.E.M. (although personally I prefer the tracks chosen for the Road Movie film but that wasn't an album far as a I know. Still some great R.E.M. tunes on this.
"This above all: To thine own self be true!"

I have a question:

Would the UnPlugged album by Alice in Chains have counted? It was technically live, seeing as it was recorded during a live performance.  Granted, it aired on tv later, but the session was released, with a live audience on the tracks.

It is quite an amazing album.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

Yes.  I had added NEIL YOUNG Unplugged a page or two back.

Neil Young's Unplugged is amazing.

That's actually when I became a fan of the guy.

I actually like Creedence Clearwater Revisited's live albums but of course they aren't quite Creedence Clearwater Revival.

MTV Unplugged gave us many wonderful performances.  This begs the question "Why cannot MTV stick to its MUSICAL roots?"

Another good Unplugged:  The Corrs

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

There's a list on page 6 of this thread.

17. Iron Maiden - Live After Death
32. Thin Lizzy

I don't think SWANS are on the list.

8. Fields Of The Nephilim - Earth Inferno

I second that one AHD even though you don't really like the "egg gargling vocals" as you say . Most of the live renditions blow away the studio versions.

My favourite (and still unlisted, I think) is this one:

"Alchemy", a 1984 live album capturing Dire Straits before they turned into elevator music manufacturers.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I saw MARK KNOPFLER live with ERIC CLAPTON sometime in the late 1980s.  It was a great show.
