-Tremors on the big screen

Got to see this at a film festival, not this past weekend but the weekend before.  It was awesome.

I can't really think of anything because anything that I would want to see once I'd probably want to see multiple times.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Watching a PBS show about Chernobyl, & how wildlife has rebounded, when it should be a desert.
Pripyat & Kiev were major cities, now covered in greenery.

Haunting, it would be so cool to see.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pripyat myself. A whole abandoned city from 1986, gradually being reclaimed by vegetation. Must be really something to see in person.

I don't guess I realized that Kiev had been abandoned.  That is remarkable!

Sorta blows the lid off the concept of Mad Max & every ripoff ever made. I mean, the very concept, not just of the Earth & Nature, but the resilience & perseverance of life itself would be great for a B-Movie. Of course, the landscape would be scarred, but time & nature could heal it'self faster than we think. A prime example would be The Petersburg Crater.

I live just an hour or so away, & keep meaning to revisit the crater, but just never get around to it.

Well yeah, when you actually read about nuclear power and nuclear warfare, it's amazing some of the exaggerations we accept as fact. Things do not stay lethally radioactive for thousands of years after they're contaminated. The most radioactive substances decay the fastest, which is why they're so radioactive. They're gone in months, weeks, even days. A few moderately radioactive elements will hang around for years. The ones with half-lives in the thousands of years are much more stable, and less radioactive.

Oh you!     The city of Kiev is just fine: my sister was living there in the 90's. They were warned to be wary of where their food had been grown: people were eating radioactive produce.

The abandoned city of Pripyat is in Kiev Oblast (province).
