"O the legend they say, on a Valentine's Day, is a curse that'll live on and on.."

The title track from P.I.L.'s Flowers of Romance LP.  Any song from this album will do the trick.

"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.
It's where my demons hide, it's where my demons hide.

I've cleared rooms (or at least made people turn off the radio) with some of Tom Waits' performances. This one most recently.

That's GREAT.  I'd stay for that.  She's singing live.  You pick songs you don't like instead of records nobody likes.  MINNIE RIPERTON was great.  That's just mean.

That'd make me stay.  I think it's brilliant.

You MUST... mean this.    Of course, it's great.  It's TOM WAITS.

This might do it:

Yep, that's the one. I screwed up the youtube code. I've noticed many people who don't like Tom Waits on a first listen can be won over with repeated exposure. My brother used to get angry when I played him, now his collection's almost as big as mine.

Hmmm... let's try a different tac:
Probably the best song written in the last 10 years.  Is it so intimate or saddening that we each need to be alone?

This seems to get the same reaction as Pac-Man Fever:

! No longer available

Edit: January 16, 2017; Don't know if this link still works; the song was Disco Duck if I remember correctly.

Guaranteed to get people leave running once those vocals kick in. I remember leaving my ipod on random one night when I went to sleep. I woke up to the screaming and thought it was coming from my room, I just about died of fright before realizing what it was.

Anything by The Shaggs does it.

Just discovered this guy's work so I'll post some Tonetta.  I think he's got some genuinely good songs, but they're lo-fi and most of them feature the most vile, sexual lyrics imaginable.  Your average person is gonna be put off by this guy.  Most of his stuff isn't safe for this forum, and his videos are mainly of him in drag or other skimpy and strange outfits.  Here's a few safe ones:

I think these are great tunes.  John and Yoko kinda blows me away.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.
