I don't mean movies of an explicit nature, I mean movies where people are filthy a la PIG PEN.

I was watching Flesh and Blood last night. it should be called "Flesh and Blood and not many baths".

Another one is The Dark Backward. This a good movie but it stinks to high heaven!

Can anyone think of other movies that could use some Irish Spring brand soap?

Richard Stanley's HARDWARE has a awful lot of very filthy looking people or maybe it was just the quality of the DVD I watched?

THE HILLS HAVE EYES clan were a pretty grotty bunch.

I always thought Captain Jack Sparrow looked like he needed a bath...and some of his crew, too.  Adds to the charm, of course.

Agreed on that one: I remember seeing this movie years ago, and it was a very gritty, very filthy medieval atmosphere that really drove home the filth and grime of the Dark Ages. Very good movie though, and Rutger Hauer shone as the mercenary betrayed, and his plan of revenge both worked and backfiredon him at the same time. One of Paul Verhoeven's (dir?) masterpieces.

VALHALLA RISING was pretty filthy. Also HUNGER (2008) but that was kind of the point.
Isn't COOL HAND LUKE on record as being the world's sweatiest movie?

Pretty much everything Ted Mikels directed is covered with grime and random stains.

Yes, and after the car wash scene, I was pretty sweaty myself! lol

THREE AMIGOS was on recently. El Guapo's posse was probably told to not bathe for the entire movie.

Most folks in S.F. Brownrigg's films are a bit on the sweaty side of things.

Karate Cop (1991)

Post apocalyptic dirt and dust on all actors throughout the movie.

In Zero Dark Thirty the guy being tortured at the start of the film looked quite dirty.

I remember going to the Old Tucson Studios in Tucson where are tour guide talked about every great movie that was filmed there. There were a bunch, but what most entertained me throughout the tour was the guide's visceral hatred of The Three Amigos. I love that movie.

Also, The Dark Backward is one movie I remember Andrew being really mad for reminding him of.

For dirty and grimy, I recommend Friedkin's Sorcerer. It's the tensest, grittiest film I have ever seen. It's also a remake of Wages of Fear. I prefer Friedkin's version.

But for tense and ugly, and maybe not as ugly as this post deserves, I recommend The Passion of Joan of Arc. It's one of the few silent films I love, and it filled to the brim with ugly, gritty, accusatory faces.

Okay, I lost the point, but those are all really great films worth watching. (Maybe not The Dark Backward.)
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

By the end of Mimic, Mira Sorvino's been crawling around in abandoned subway tunnels and pipes for most of the movie so she's covered in slime, grime and bug bits.

...but she's still hot.  :bouncegiggle:
