There's a Skyline thread in the Good Movies (posted before anybody has seen the film) section but yeah, it is actually bad.

Young couple visit their famous hip-hop/rap artist friend who lives in a fancy high rise building together with two ho's. They hang out at the pool, and later party hard in their apartment. During the early morning hours there's an alien invasion, sucking people into their spaceships. The five remaining friends are trapped and must now fend off evil floating drones and giant creatures stomping about.

Visuals and f/x are stunning, the wrap-around plot/story is not. It's hard to care about shallow cliched unsympathetic characters running through scenes stolen from Spielberg's War of the Worlds, any Transformers movie and District 9. No passion + zero originality = eh. Still, I was mildly entertained by all its badness.

The scenes that play during the end credits set up a much more interesting story then the one we got in the actual film.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

My wife and I went to see that in the theater, and we BOTH hated it!

Glad I missed this one.  The ships looked sweet but some of the other shots were juvenile (Ferrari getting stomped by alien walker).

Totally agree with this. Just as the film gets interesting it ends.

Bickering, cheating couples and jealousy didn't belong in the middle of that movie. The alien stuff was cool even if the ending was a bit... I don't even know. It looked cool but I didn't get it.
Kleel's rule is harsh :-B

I'm one of the few people who apparently enjoyed this movie, but for the wrong reasons.

The fact that everyone dies was refreshing, and the bit wherein the aliens pulled themselves together after the last-ditch gambit attack?

It's nice to see a film where aliens with superior technology are treated like actual aliens with superior technology.

I enjoyed it as well I loved seeing aliens actually do well. The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the ending.
This is my awesome signature.  Jealous?

Everyone dies is refreshing? Well, conceptually, as per the Superior tech point...
Other than that...bummer.
