C'mon, Ronnie!!
What's gonna happen to action movies if they ban guns???
Are the the protagonists going to start dispatching antagonists with paper clips launched from rubber bands as if we're supposed to believe it???
Are we supposed to believe that the rubber band can easily be mastered into lethal force once firearms are done away with???
Is that what we're supposed to believe???
Are we supposed to believe that that a cowboy could reach into his pocket, pull out six rubber bands, wrap them around his fingers & launch all six of them fast enough to kill six men???
Is Hollywood going to try telling us that Rebels & Yankees exchanged rubber bands at Gettysburg???

Honestly, what would the remake of Zardoz look like if the big flying stone head started vomiting rubber bands???

Nobody is trying to ban guns. But to show paper work that proves your not a nut seems like a good thing.
Your babbling about ZARDOZ. Have you seen the news lately.? Like- just this week?

Uh, boy...
Y'see, we got a new president a few months ago (his name is Biden) and banning guns has been on his agenda since he got in...
He even went so far as to call them a disease earlier this week.....
Hope that hand powered rubber band launcher works out for you...

Seconded. I guess I wasn't thinking when I started this thread that people would post political stuff, probably short-sighted of me given the current state of America.  :bluesad:

So, from this picture, I'm left to assume that a certain elixir invented by John Stith Pemberton has a racist history they have yet to address, and that a certain hate group wasn't indicative to the south.................

"Indicative"?  "Indicative"?

In any case, sure, Michigan has loads of racists.  I believe New Jersey has a "chapter" of the kkk.  No region of the country has a monopoly on racism.  But... 1924?  1924?

Can I ask a question without it spiraling out of control?

Why would Coca-Cola have given the KKK free drinks, let alone boasted about it?

I don't think the hateful agenda of the Klan represented the values of enough Americans for it to be worth a company's time, let alone be something a company would want to associate itself with and risk alienating Jews, Catholics, blacks, and even WASPs who didn't subscribe to hate.

Anyone have insights there?

And real answers, please, not politics and ....

Fact: it's not "Coca-Cola" endorsing the Klan, it's "the Northern Coca-Cola Company of Michigan." Speculation: A local individual franchisee distributor probably was a racist and took it upon himself to act without endorsement from the parent company.

But this is terribly off-topic.
