My doc gave me plant based sleeping pills to help me sleep. Took two last night and I slept 50% more than I usually do. Bonus: I've been sleep-drunkish with a I-don't-give-a-s**t attitude all day.

I don't understand not embracing insomnia as part of existence, like getting kicked in the shins a certain number of allotted times before death. Sleep and I have ben quarreling for my whole life.

^You need to take a nap man.
Nothing wrong with it.
Death is part of existence too, but I ain't eager to embrace it.

Taking a nap is part of existence too. It won't kill you. If you sleep very well, birds are chirping, you feel like mowing the lawn and cooking outside!

I never cared for Adric as a companion, but they did give him an awesome death scene that almost made him seem cool.

I just make insomnia work for me by doing things like flitting around the dark windows under a sheet, seeing if the neighbors come over to report a ghost.

Adric's end was a gasper, absolutely. As a kid watching the show on PBS with my dad I was also gobsmacked when Peri died, but of course later that was explained away as an illusion, which was more a copout than a relief, I thought. Thinking she got killed after enduring all the bad stuff they did to her in that final episode made me go lie on my bed and stare at the ceiling a while.

The only one whoever kicked me in my shin was myself.

only good thing about insomnia, you eventually figure out where to find the best sandwich at four in the morning...

Well, when I say embrace it, I mean lean into it. If it's there just get up and use the time. It happens to me a lot, oddly, when I'm the most tired, and I've gotten quite a few things done in my sleepless hours. Insomnia always sucks at least a little though. At least in my case it's more than being unable to sleep, insomnia has a definite feel to it. A tone. Like a brain disturbance.

I'm not really sure how I feel about insomnia. I'll have to sleep on it.
