I've always thought of a picture of her husband on a balcony seeing the protests (and the fear etched on his face), as being the defining picture of the fall of the eastern bloc for me.

I've seen the noozreelz on PBS....

An actor friend of mine once went on a tour of Ceaușescu's palace... Said it took several hours & he still didn't even see the whole thing... One of the things he remembered was that the guy had giant portraits of himself....
Subject came up when we were reading a play about how the secret police were desperately trying to recruit snitches right before the collapse...

I don't know why but reading up on nuclear/radiation mishaps/failures as well as industrial disasters is both interesting and horrifying to me, yet I want to learn more about them.

Inbetween Tchaikovsky adding an artillery section to the orchestra with the 1812 Overture and AC/DC with 'For Those About To Rock', I cannot think of anyone else who added big guns to their musical performance.

I was making american beef stew from an classic recipe yesterday and realized if I had added curry powder, fishsauce and coconut milk and swapped parsley with cilantro it would have been the usual indian curry I always make. Almost the same Ingredients.
Is it October yet?
