Recently discovered the very first meat Puppets ep. A very different beast than the Nirvana unplugged stuff. Somewhere between Void and the Minutemen, if those names many anything to you. ie very crazy but secretly tuneful early hc era stuff

^ not heard that, but their debut self titled album is pretty crazy...like hardcore meets country meets thrash punk (or something?). They got a lot more sensible after that

I had that on cassette and I'm pretty sure he was
