Sometimes I think I sit here and post at night because it feels like too much effort to walk upstairs and go to bed.

Long, busy day too. I was in two states, four counties, two courthouses, and two grocery stores today on top of gathering ammo for yet another IRS audit that is coming. (Ever tried to get a free tax advocate? You'd have better luck summoning a Norse god; just get a lawyer and an accountant and count on spending more that way than you would by just paying what the IRS asks.)

Came home and gave tiredness the middle finger by running two and a half more miles on the treadmill when I was feeling dead on my feet. I try not to let my body push me around any more than I have to, you see. :-)

Nice little storm hit a bit ago and it's still raining. We may get four inches of precipitation before dawn, they're saying.

Thinking about getting a massage tomorrow, or maybe getting two inches cut off my hair. Or just staying home and reading a book I bought  today for a dollar and making nachos with my son.

See, I'm posting at random to resist getting up and going to bed. It's seductive to just sit longer....

I took a lady from Wisconsin and her sister on a guided fossil hunt today and got to see her make the best find of her lifetime!
I'll admit, it was a piece I'd have loved to added to my collection, but the look in her eyes was worth WAY more than the value of the fossil.
I love giving people that experience!!

There are 2 small Bic lighters in front of my keyboard. One is pink, the other blue. I thought " A boy and a girl." Yup. Gotta cut down on my smoking, maybe....

when i was a teenager i read donald hall's poem my son my executioner & refused to see the arrival of a child in terms like those

today my youngest turned 11 & im still refusing

trinity made me more alive she didn't set me flinching from the re-division of my existence

Yesterday one of my students told me: "I PROMISE I'll have that late paper to you tomorrow, or you can have my left eye!"
So today I brought an ice cream scoop to school.  But, darn it, he turned the paper in!
