Tonight's stinker
Conquest (1983)

And talk about a stinker....
A young man is given a magic bow, then goes to the land of cave men, makes friends with a warrior that has no friends, then goes after an evil priestess....
Lots of rock & roll effects put into the dialog, so you can't really understand what they're saying, some scenes are too poorly lit, other scenes filled with so much fake fog that you can't tell what's going on....
Very confusing story, chock full o' that cheesy Italian techno muzak.....

History will judge Joe Biden more kindly than many of his contemporaries have, I think.

Would have judged him even more favorably if he'd dropped out earlier. I think he gets a Mike Pence level of respect... he eventually did the right thing, but it shouldn't have been such a struggle.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I think the outcome in November will also affect his legacy.

He called the president of Ukraine "President Putin" who knows what he would have done next. No one has ever won the war against time.

^ Well, at least he didn't ramble about sharks, Hannibal Lecter, and birds getting killed by windmills.

The Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy (1958)

Through a series of flashbacks, a scientist & some colleagues discuss how they took some relics from an Aztec temple, how a mummy came after them, and how a criminal mastermind is also after the relics...
Just over an hour, & doesn't waste much time moving forward....

I did hear that stuff from the opening ceremony had been misinterpreted by people apparantly unfamiliar with the history of the games. I quickly scanned an articule about it but I've no real interest in it.

Tonight's Stinker
The Snow Creature (1954)

A botanist & a photographer go to Napal to look at plants, when the wife of one of their Sherpas gets abducted by a yeti..... Much to the pair's chagrin, the Sherpas go after the yeti, dragging them along.... They don't find the woman, but find the yeti, capture it, and take it back to L.A., where it escapes & the police spend the rest of the movie wondering where it is.....
Painfully slow & plodding.....

Tonight's Stinker
The Cosmic Man (1959)

The military tracks a UFO to the California mountains, where they find a sphere...
Later, the locals complain about a shadowy figure peaking in windows....
Everybody flirts the young widow who owns a local hotel....
The scientists & the military bicker over whether to kill the visitor & blow up his ship or talk to him & let him go.....
Even paced, but pretentious.....

The Brain from Planet Arous (1957)

A pair of scientists follow a radiation signature out into the desert, find a cave, & only one of them returns...
The survivor returns home acting like a jerk... Turns out, he's possessed by an alien that also happens to be a jerk who wants to take over the world....

Tonight's Stinker
The Beast of Yucca Flats (1961)
http://www.badmovies.org/movies/yuccaflats/

Tor Johnson plays a defected soviet scientist who escapes an assassination attempt, only to wonder out onto a nuclear testing site..... He survives the blast, only to turn into a strangling necrophile...
Of course, most of the film is spent showing him & some other people wondering around in the desert...
At one point, a pair of local policemen try to kill an innocent man for not apparent reason....
No real story (or acting) & horribly edited, all the dialog is dubbed in poorly with a narrator doing most of the talking, kinda like The Creeping Terror, only worse....

Just under an hour, thankfully!
