<HTML>Don't forget about Jack Frost.  No, I'm not talking about the Michael Keaton movie, the killer snowman flick, or the Rankin-Bass thing.  Of course that leaves only the Russo-Finnish co-production of Jack Frost.  I'm not sure if this film's dementedness can be accredited to the fact that it's foreign or if it really is just totally insane.  Anyway, it's one of my favorite MST3K episodes and I really wish SciFi would show it again.

Also worthy of mention I think would be The Brave Little Toaster.  I'm not quite sure why, but this movie disturbed the hell outta me when I was a kid.</HTML>
The exploding air conditioner, the nightmare with the giant clown & the forks, "It's Like a Movie," "Worthless," & probably a dozen other little details.

Never released on DVD (I think because there's a Celine Dion song in it they couldn't clear the rights to). I wrote about it a long time ago and a lot of Canadians remember being traumatized by it.

I'm still trying to figure out what was going on in Pokemon 3: The Movie.

And why it seems to be a fan-favorite.  Cool stuff happens, but it makes no sense!

Can you make any sense of this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_3:_The_Movie#Spell_of_the_Unown

Will no one mention that this thread was started 18 years ago?? I've got nothing against Reanimated threads (Night of the Living Thread?) but this one is pretty darn old.

What intrigues me is how the profile status of most of the original posters is 'Guest', with one or two exceptions. No one has karma, no one has a clickable profile link, and none of those usernames post any more. It's like the WWW equivalent of the pre WWW days, if that makes sense. I'm guessing there was a forum software move somewhere in the past, and the user information became unlinked from the posts. But I've noticed that even my own, much older posts don't appear in my activity history. It's very strange.

Yes, there was. In 2006, I believe, it was updated so you could post pictures and videos-what it looks like now. It was around the time I joined-which was in 2006.
Ash (or Ash the Cat) still posts here once in a while, and he was here from almost day 1!  :buggedout:

I'm sure Mofo Rissing is still around, and Flangepart.
EDIT- Hell, man! You signed up in 2005-before I did! That's why your older posts are gone.
After the forum change in 2006, all is lost before that.

Not true.
Which part?
If you know, tell me and we'll both know.
Mofo Rising is still around. He's a moderator.
I do recall talk about the forum change, back in about 2006. It happened shortly before or after I joined.
Andrew updated it-so we could post videos and photos.

Looks like he changed from Phorm to SMS in 2006:

Quote from: Andrew on November 09, 2006, 12:06:58 PM
I am checking how the site looks from the unit and all I can think is, "Thank goodness I can finally see the site again."  For a long time now (about a year), I could not check when I had spare time.  The old host had a good support staff, but a large chunk of their network was blocked by the USMC NOC.  Heck, the old semi-dedicated server we were on had porn sites on the same box.  The new host does not allow adult sites and it looks like the USMC NOC does not block any of the IP range.

Anyway, a short question for everyone:  Again, I am thinking about changing from the present message board (Phorum) to something else.  vBulletin is probably the best paid for, but I keep looking at SMF.  I know that Gerry runs SMF over at SciFilm.org and that message board has matured a lot.  The newest release even has converters for Phorum, so all the old posts could be carried over.

What has been eating some of my time lately is doing coding for Phorum to get all the tweaks right and make it more user friendly.  Honestly, I would rather be writing reviews.  Also, the new server is going to require me to do the overall administration - since it is a VPS, not semi-dedicated.  I want to investigate a different message board software, so that everything will be easier.

I am going to see how it looks if I set up a SMF message board and tweak the theme to look like the present board.  However, I do not want to go changing things if it is too much trouble for everyone and causes problems/plain frustration.  So, let me know.

Here is the homepage for Simple Machines Forum (SMF).

The newest release of SMF also supports letting guests submit replies if they solve a CAPTCHA (the "what does this say" or "solve a math problem" question).

That's also when he made reader comments part of the forum.
