RC: how do you smoke pot? Bong, joint, other?

Rev- do you ever smoke weed? And if so- how?
Does anyone here smoke weed?  Question

I have smoked in the past. (Don't ask me how recently in the past). If it were legal, I'd smoke it a couple of times a month.

My preference was always bong.

Bongs are nice if you want to get real high real fast.
I prefer to drag it out. Take a hit off a bowl. Chill. Jam on music. Take a shot of whiskey.
And take another hit while I change the song.
But if someone ever offers me a hit off a bong, which ain't happened in over 30 years, I would take it.
Sure.

OK. ER, what is your beverage of choice?

Also, is Alex reading this thread?

Rev, I am so boring I actually prefer water. (Hanging my head in shame.)

Yes, I think Alex is reading it because I believe he replied in here.

Alex, can you recommend me a peaty Scotch that's good for beginners? I have not especially enjoyed stuff that's been aged in sherry casks.

(Not to steal Alex's thunder, he's, well, Scottish of course, but have you tried Glenlivet? My grandpa used to buy a case of that every December.)

Whiskys from the islands or from Speyside tend to be peatier. Glenlivet is a good one as mentioned by ER and pretty well known. If you want something a little more obscure, try Tomintoul with a Peaty Tang. Benromach have a few good ones. Smokehead is a good one from the islands, although somewhat peatier than I prefer.

Alex, if James IV had won at Flodden in 1513, would it have made any difference to how the history of Britain turned out?

Overall, I suspect not that much difference. History is made of large movements and I suspect individual events like this, no matter how big they might seem to be participants do not change to the overall course of history. While most of the Stewarts were somewhat poor rulers, James oversaw something of a Renaissance figure and did do much for the arts and science in Scotland, and improve its political position throughout Europe, however his son was cut from a different cloth and was a tyrant who terrorised the populace. It is possible that had his father lived longer and James V had an easier life as a child he could have been a different man, but I suspect not.

Ever heard of a book by AJ Stewart called Falcoln? The author believes she used to be James IV in a past life, and wrote a massive "autobiography" from that perspective, but was only able to find a willing publisher if she cut her manuscript down to a quarter of its length and let them market it as a novel.

Not one I've heard of. Funny how people were always someone special in a previous life. No one was ever a plumber or serving girl etc.

Nobody's really abused the god-like powers inherent in this thread. We suck.
