The former President of SA Jacob Zuma was sentenced to 15 months jail for contempt of court: violence against authorities was threatened and then this happened:

Thanks, Sister: I see over 1200 people were arrested.

My point is SA has been in lockdown in one form or another for 474 days, much longer than a year. Many people have lost their jobs, the lower income groups are suffering, there seems to be no way out other than revolt and Mr Zuma's jail sentence was the spark which lit the fuse. The govt's vaccine rollout has been a disaster and in many cases, we are worse off now than in March 2020 when this started.

I'm not condoning what the people have done but SA people don't like having their liberties impinged upon or taken away and this has happened with no end in sight.  Bluesad
