She has nice ribs though. Gotta give ol' Charlize credit there. Totally great ribs. Her skeleton should be hung in an anatomy class at an art school someday.

I was having a pretend sword fight with Ash earlier, when he suddenly stepped forward and stamped on my foot, then used the distraction to get past my guard and deliver a gut wound.

I just watched a video on the difference between zoom shots and dolly shots, and while I understand how each is achieved, for the life of me I can't distinguish the difference with my naked eye (unless it's a really obvious "crash zoom.")

Perhaps it's merely a logistical choice determined by the subject.

I swear toddlers are tough as nails these days.  My son came up and gave me a big spontaneous hug while I was working in the kitchen.  I said “Oh what a nice hug! Thank you!” he very coolly said “it’s not a hug, it’s a kill..” as he walked away to go back to playing.

I still don’t know how to feel about that.  I guess he's practicing to be a real lady-killer?

It is, but the trained eye can tell what's a zoom and what's a dolly. Supposedly it's because the relative orientation of the objects in space changes during a dolly but not a zoom. But I look at a scene and I have no clue which is which.  Question

Yep, that's how you're supposed to do it, but unless there's a really obvious landmark I find it quite difficult.

On another topic, I don't like tattoos on anyone, but I don't understand them on two populations who always have them:

Drug addicts. "Jeez, I really wish I had saved that $300 I paid for the butterfly on my ass so I could buy two days worth of heroin right now."

Criminals. "I think what I need in a fashion choice is something permanent that will enable witnesses to identify me to the police with 100% accuracy."

Well no surgery today after all but for sad reasons. The surgeon's dog got hit by a car this morning and had to be rushed to the vet for surgery herself, so he cleared his calendar and cancelled everything. I'm relieved, sad, annoyed all in one.

Hmmm, reminds me of the old Jewish saying: "Why do you hate me so much? What good have I ever done for you?"

Now that Oz What's-'is-Name has lost in Pennsylvania, I suddenly find myself wondering how many song parodies I could get out of "crudité".....
It started with "coup d'état" by The Circle Jerks, but then I found myself thinking about Yesterday by The Beatles.....
