Maybe, but then, if wises were shoes, women everywhere would run out of closet space...

Yeah, really, I have a friend who is into paganism (as she defines it) who claims you can manifest whatever you want in your life if you concentrate on your wishes, and every time she goes into that I think how if that was true a million teenage girls in the '50s would've been married to Elvis, and every one of us would have won the lottery. Man's reach must exceed his grasp, else what be Heaven for?(If I quote that right.)

This non-paying part-time job is proving a devourer of my time, and I am thinking it might be more more efficient to get some blackmail on corporations and wealthy people than to humbly ask for donations.

Wish for bigger closets!  This could go on and on into atoms and expand into another alternate reality.

the North End in Boston is home to some of the darkest, lighting wise, restaurants in existence. Is this a "thing" elsewhere? I like to be able to see my food

In Austin there was a restaurant that booked dinner in its windowless basement, in full darkness, you did not know what the food was going to be, you were blindfolded when taken inside, so you did not know with whom you and your companion would be dining or among how many, there was only an awareness you were seated at a long buffet table with a group of strangers, in absolute lightlessness. I guess as a trend it never caught on, maybe because it cost $200.00 a person in 2004 dollars.

That's basically whats being done in the name of ambience in Boston. A couple last night told me that had to use their phones to read the menus at the place they went.

It's a thing in this town...
My mom started complaining about it a little over a decade ago, & I started noticing....

Restaurants and stores in our town are diming and switching off lights in order to save energy since prices have doubled in the past 12 months.

That is the reason everything is "dark" here. No idea why they do this in Boston though. Maybe it is some sort of trend or something.
Is it October yet?

There's an upscale Italian restaurant near me that has their windows blocked out and lit with candles. No idea if it's supposed to be a more quieter atmosphere or just an upscale restaurant gimmick. Outside of town there's  another upscale Italian restaurant,  but it's open, bright, and loud.
yeah no.

Sorry, Eastenders, but if someone is "all mouth," how is there room for him to also be "trousers"? This seeming contradiction often kept me awake at night as a child, but I pretended it was jet lag.
