What do you do when you get time off, like from work, or a vacation, or jail?

I always have time off. I smoke weed a lot. Listen to music. Read books I already read.

Once Ash is in bed, I normally mix spending time with Kristi, watching movies, playing computer and board games, listening to music and when the weather is suitable (and Ash is awake), we go on long walks.

I had 18 months time off. What I did in those 18 months:

spend a total of three months in hospital
four surgeries for colitis (first surgery took six hours followed by three days IC)
one surgery for scraping and cleaning infected wound
one surgery for kidney cancer
two colonoscopies
injected radioactive substances and scanned at the nuclear medicine clinic (lost hair but it grew back)
injected substances and scanned three times at the radiology clinic
had to see my doctor three times a week for seven months to clean and bandage surgery wound not healing properly
Physiotherapy at hospital to re-learn walking (twice) after surgeries
bladder infection due to issues with catheter
three weeks thrombosis self injection at home
Sleep issues since first surgery 18 months ago. Can't sleep longer than three hours.
Post rehab denied because my "sickness" wasn't deemed severe, so I went back to work. I'm in my third of four weeks of reintegration.

Some times I like to just hang around and relax. I read books, comic books, watch movies or play board games.

Other times I like to get out of the house. Could be day trips or longer vacations. The last "away" vacation I had was a 9-day cruise in 2019. So I'm ready to travel somewhere again.

When I'm not busy with things I have to do, I've been putting in more hours lately volunteering at a food pantry than I had invested there in the last few years I'd been involved with it, and have found a lot of satisfaction in using my time for that instead of other things I used to do. The number of needy have grown in our community and the help that's being sent to Ukraine (technically into Poland on behalf of Ukrainians) is almost a bottomless task since so many people there need help.

^ Just what I was gonna say!

No- I sleep a lot. In nice weather I sit in the yard with the dog and watch cars drive by and birds and squirrels.
In the summer, late at night, I like to sit in the front lawn and just look at the sky. The stars. The moon. all of it.

I've had all week off so far.  Been relaxing at home a bit, went to the pub a couple times, played some video games.  Off til Monday.  I stopped at the local library, got a book, I'll read a bit.

In September I get a second vacation so I'll go down the beach for a week.

I usually just screw around in front of the internet/post videos in my easy chair and drink a Coke.  Order pizza, maybe take a side trip to a new restaurant I haven't tried.  Go out and see a movie that might hold my interest (a rare thing).  Maybe visit my mom or brother.  Extremely mellow, non-stressful things.
