January 11 is Arkansas Day.
I have no idea who thought Arkansas needed a day.
Probably somebody from Arkansas.

Anyway...

The Town that Dreaded Sundown takes place in Arkansas.

(This post holds the record for the most times anyone has ever posted the word "Arkansas" on this board since it started.  Pretty sure.)

January 12 is Kiss a Ginger Day

You can watch a  redhead kiss people in Batman and Robin!

You know what day it is.  You know what you have to watch.

How could you follow Firday the 13th with anything other than Saturday the 14th?

Today Phyliss Coates, best known as Lois Lane in the old 50's Superman TV show, is alive and kicking at 97!

Here she is in I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN.

I wasn't quite sure if you were posting in the right topic at first, but I went and checked.  (January 15th is her birthday, for those of you who don't want to check.)

Gabriel Knight

Today is John Carpenter's birthday! We can celebrate with one of his worst movies, even when I think it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Check my crappy and unpopular reviews and ratings:

January 17th was the first appearance of  Popeye the Sailor in Thimble Theater!

In 1896 – The X-Ray Machine was shown to the public for the first time.  Sort of/kind/of/Not really. They charged people to see an 'illusion' of the effect.

You can see more X-ray stuff in X:  The Man with X-Ray Eyes!

Colin Clive's birthday! He brought FRANKENSTEIN to life! Those movies with him are great- but think of the putrid pultritude that he begot! What kind of world would we live in if there was not a FRANKENSTIEN ISLAND (1981)?

I remember reading that the ending - where Ray Milland yanks his eyes out and they freeze frame on the sockets - was actually different in concept and the script had Milland scream "I can still see!"  :buggedout:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.
