Another:
DEMONS (1985)
Gory Italian zombie-type of film in which a special screening of a horror film in Berlin triggers an event that leads to audience members turning into snarling, fanged demons.  Rightly lauded for its incredible special effects.  In some ads, blurbed NO ONE UNDER 17 WILL BE ADMITTED for heavy gore, nudity and drugs.  Mario Bava's son Lamberto directs.

^ Definitely!

FLESH GORDON (1974)
Really stupid, juvenile sex spoof of the sci-fi character's adventures.  Emperor Wang (ugh) from the Planet Porno (double ugh) fires a sex ray at Earth.  Flesh and his friends Dale Ardor (another ugh) and Flexi Jerkoff (one last ugh) attempt to stop him.   Popular with the college crowd/young adults.
Originally rated X for sex/nudity.  Later re-rated R.
Porn actress Candy Samples appears, and Rick Baker helped work on the effects!

Strange that there's one film on there where I knew almost everyone involved 😊
Was that THE SHADOWED MIND?

Yes, filmed, believe it or not in a disused railway siding and storage units in Pretoria 🚂😂

One more for the list: Nicolas Roeg's Bad Timing (1980)

THE CANTERBURY TALES (1972)
Part of Pier Paolo Pasolini's "Trilogy Of Life" series, which also included THE DECAMERON and ARABIAN NIGHTS.  14th century British poet Geoffrey Chaucer's tales are brought to life on screen in multiple segments chock full of nudity and sex, which earned it an X rating.  The controversy surrounding the content in his films may have led to his murder in late 1975.

SAPPHO, DARLING (1968)
Girl dumps her boyfriend for a sexy female hitchhiker.  X for ample nudity/sex and a rape.  Later after release was re-rated R.  The director, Albert Zugsmith, was touted as an Academy Award winner in ads and on posters, which was a complete lie.
"O the legend they say, on a Valentine's Day, is a curse that'll live on and on.."

LAST SUMMER (1969)
Acclaimed but disturbing story of 3 young friends spending a summer vacation at the beach.  They give in to evil tendencies.  Bruce Davison, Richard Thomas and Barbara Hershey star.  Co-star Catherine Burns was nominated for an Oscar.  Rated X for sex/nudity/rape/violence.  Later cut and re-rated R.

One more:
HEADLESS EYES (1971)
Zero-budget film set in New York City.  Artist/thief is blinded and goes mad, murdering people to put their eyeballs in his artwork.  Rated X for gore.  Directed by Jason and Justine Bateman's dad, and produced by an ex-porn filmmaker.  I first came across this at a video store in the mid-80s but still haven't seen it.

New cut of this movie coming out soon, BTW. They producer who re-cut it says "a completely fresh reconstruction based on tons of footage found in the Penthouse archive. They removed all the depravity that was controversially added during the first release, and it has been restored to what should've been all along." I think I will have to check out the version with all the depravity intact first so I can make a proper judgement.

^I've not seen it yet. Maybe I will now that all the porno s**t is cut out. I dunno, but porn is good for what it is, but if I wanna watch a real movie, I don't really need to see all that. It's just distracting. If I wanna jerk off, I'll watch a regular porn loop.

NC-17/X/No One Under 17 Movie Trivia:
NIGHTMARE (1981)
-The film's advertising touts Tom Savini as having worked on the special effects in the film but he only was a consultant.  Savini has distanced himself from the film.
-Joel Coen (of the Coen Brothers) was the editor early on in the film's process, but was fired.
-One of Britain's 72 "Video Nasties".  Banned in the UK until 2001.  3 of the British distributor's executives faced prison time for releasing the original uncut version.
-Director Romano Scavolini had previously directed hardcore pornographic films.

BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS (1970)
-Lead actress Dolly Read was Dick Martin (Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In)'s wife.  Edy Williams (Ashley) was married to director Russ Meyer.
-Co-written by film critic Roger Ebert.
-Pam Grier appears very briefly; she was Marcia McBroom (Petronella)'s roommate.
-Jacqueline Susann, writer of VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, hated this separate story so much she threatened to sue 20th Century Fox for use of her book in the film's title.  She died in 1974 and a settlement was reached with her husband.
-Surprised that the MPAA was giving the film an X rating, Meyer planned on adding more sex/nudity, but ran out of time before its release.
-Roxanne and Casey's Catwoman and Robin costumes are actual costumes used from the 1966 BATMAN series.
-The character of Ronnie "Z-Man" is based on record producer Phil Spector.

LAST SUMMER (1969)
-Actress Barbara Hershey was so traumatized by her scene in which she murders a seagull that she changed her last name to "Seagull" for a couple of years.
-Richard Thomas' character's father is played by Ralph Waite; they would reunite as "father and son" in THE WALTONS.  Catherine Burns and Bruce Davison would make guest appearances on the show.
-Novel sequel: COME WINTER (1973).

THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY (1981)
-The 3rd part in director Lucio Fulci's "Gates Of Hell" trilogy (with CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE BEYOND).
-Catriona (Katherine) MacColl (who appeared in each of the "Gates Of Hell" films) was deathly afraid of bats, and got over her fear of them while working on the film.
-Used the same library set from THE BEYOND, and the film GHOSTHOUSE (1988) was shot on the same estate as THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY.

HIGH TENSION (2003)
-Set in South France, but shot in Romania.
-Influenced by the Dean R. Koontz novel INTENSITY.  Koontz hated the film but decided not to sue for plagiarism.
-Co-star Maiwenn was previously married to director Luc Besson.
